However, if you want to add watermarks and text you can use the 'Batch Convert' from 'Tools' menu. We can also say that the category filter allows you to find photos containing a certain keyword. The 'Category Filter' panel allows you to find photos with a specific category. ![]() However, the XnViewMP has very few things in common with XnView Classic. XnViewMP offers several ways to take advantage of the metadata you have added to your photos and the data that are mirroring some of them in the catalog. XnViewMP - aka XnView MultiPlatform, which is the successor of XnView which has many things implemented better compared with XnView (and not only compared with XnView). For this program you found & read the above references. XnView - aka XnView Classic which supports plugins. Is it possible that this addon is created only for normal XnView and not for XnViewMP? If that is the case, what addon I can use to create text, line, rectangle, watermarka and so on? Is there any way to activate this addon? How to do that? How to use this addon?Īs I say before, I'm using XnViewMP version 0.61. Ignore my ignorance, but I'm really new with this program. Problem is that I cant see any commands or toolbar for this new addon. ![]() With this I followed instructions on "How to Add Plugins to XnView" ( ). It unpacked in two files, Paint.lng and Paint.xnp. I downloaded file named "paint" on my desktop and unpacked it to "program files/XnViewMP/AddOn". I tried to ad new addon from this forum ( ), add on "Basic paint features (text, line, rectangle, watermark. The transition would itself cause some confusion, of course, and I'm not sure what the consequences would be for the forum in the short term. So single words for both starting with Xn for consistency with other XnView software, and names that can't easily be confused. With XnView MP now nearing version 1.00, I wonder if it might be a good time to look to the future and consider renaming both existing programs to avoid future confusion, to for example XnClassic (or other, better name) and XnUltra (or other, better name) XnView software has usually been released with a single-word name ( XnView and XnViewMP until recently), XnConvert, XnRetro, XnSketch, XnShape, plus NConvert (command line). In addition, posters often refer to 'XnView' within posts, even when posting in the correct forum section. However, confusion still continues to some extent, and the single-word name is also still used to some extent, as in the executable file xnviewmp.exe for example, so not a perfect solution. The name was changed from XnViewMP to XnView MP when, following frequent confusion between XnViewMP and the original program XnView, it was decided to rename the original program to XnView Classic, and for consistency, including in the forum headings, to refer to XnViewMP also using two words as XnView MP. I would love to see consistency of the name on anything related to software (folders, shortcut, file description, product name, etc) if possible for the better.
